Jeff & Alyssa

Our story began in the library of Illinois Wesleyan, with what seemed like a one-off conversation between a clueless freshman and a girl he considered way out of his league.

As fate would have it, though, it wasn’t a one-off conversation. It was the start of a years-long friendship, deepened over countless shared experiences and meaningful conversations. 

By the time our chapter at Wesleyan came to a close, we’d become close friends and trusted confidants. We kept in touch after graduation, even after life took us down separate paths, as Jeff stayed in Bloomington-Normal to start his career in web design and Alyssa moved back to Chicagoland to pursue her calling as a nurse.

We watched each other grow from afar, and encouraged each other to pursue the things that made us happy. The frequency of conversation may have wavered as we went through busy seasons, but our commitment to supporting each other and keeping a friendship never did.

It wasn’t until 2021, nearly eight years after we’d first met, that we realized it was each other who made us happiest, and that it was high time we pursued each other. And so, two best friends became more.

As we approach our wedding day, we want to thank each and every one of you for the support and love you’ve given us. We wouldn’t be the same without the role you’ve played in our lives, and we can’t wait to have all of our favorite people in one place together.
